Video Lab Policy

2025-2026

1. Only students enrolled in a Film/Video course or in the Film/Video program have access to designated Video Lab studios during the semesters
2. All Film/Video equipment users are financially liable for loss, damage, and theft when using Film/Video equipment and facilities.
3. Access to the Video Lab will occur only during scheduled hours.
4. Reserved studio time will be held only for 30 minutes, after which the reservation will be forfeited.
5. Students must present a valid Mass Art ID to access studios.
6. Do not attempt to repair any studio equipment.
7. DO NOT TAMPER WITH EQUIPMENT. Patching or switches must be stored in normal settings when you are finished. You can not tamper with security cables, go behind racks, change menu settings or make other internal adjustments.
8. No food or Drinks are allowed in any of the Video Lab studios.
9. NO MEDIA CAN BE STORED ON ANY COMPUTER SYSTEM. ALL MEDIA IS DELETED  AUTOMATICALLY ( no exceptions)
10. Flammable or toxic materials are prohibited in the Video Lab studios.
11 Users of the Video Lab are responsible for leaving a clean studio when done.
12. The Video Lab is not responsible in any way for materials, films, or media left behind. Users may be subject to a removal fee if items are not removed when requested.
13. Scheduled classes have priority over other uses of the Video lab.
15. Do not cover light instruments or projectors in any way
16. All cables that run on the floor must be gaffed down
17. Do not attach anything to the studio wall surfaces18. Gloves must be worn when handling hot lights
19. Equipment items in the grip closet, camera closet, cables, etc are not to leave the spaces that those items are in.
20. The Video Lab Sound Studio and Color Grading Suites require training before using.

Your access to the film/video area could be permanently revoked if you are found in violation of this policy
